What is the quality of institutes in NZ?
The New Zealand Education is centrally managed by a quality assurance system; New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA). Please refer to www.nzqa.govt.nz
When shall I start applying for admissions?
Students applying to Universities should start applying at least 4 months in advance. Most of the Universities take approximately 3-6 weeks to issue an offer letter. In many cases issuance of an offer letter will depend on the course which a student wants to undertake. ITP take anywhere between 3-21 working days. Students should give themselves enough time to apply for admission and visa.
Which are the major intakes in NZ?
Most of the Universities / ITPs will have two intakes in a year, i.e. February and July. We advise you to check the University / ITPs website for further information. Some ITPs run courses in October also, please visit us to get more information on this. PTEs have rolling intakes – please visit us to know more.
What is the application process for NZ?
To get admission in any institute in NZ a student needs to fulfill all the set requirements of admission. Most of the institutes require a list of documents to process the application. Please refer to the list of documents required for admission. This list may vary from an institute to institute.
What are the visa application requirements?
Please refer to the list of documents required for visa. Student visa is a fast process and can be completed in 1-3 months time, depending on the student profile. NZ Immigration would like to see that the student has selection a relevant course, has sufficient funds to study the course, has a good moral character and has meet the academic requirements of the institution where he/she intends to study.

How much does NZ education cost?
Diploma / Undergraduate Courses – Tuition fees between NZ$ 15,000 – NZ$ 21,000 pa. PG Courses: Tuition fees between NZ$ 21,000 – NZ$ 40,000 pa. Tuition fees will depend on the area of education.
What are the living expenses?
Living expenses in NZ will vary from NZ$ 1000 – NZ$1200 a month which will include accommodation, transportation, clothing, food and other costs.
How do I get from Auckland Airport to the city?
The airport licenses specific taxi and shuttle companies to ensure airport visitors and travellers receive a high standard of service. Taxi and shuttle ranks are located outside the arrivals area at the international terminal.
Is it difficult to find your way in Auckland?
No. With a free downtown city bus service, a low-cost bus service for the inner city suburbs, a comprehensive public transport system and a great motorway network, getting around Auckland is easy. Ask at the Auckland i-SITE Visitor Centres for local maps and transport stops or make your way to the Britomart transport centre in downtown Auckland.
What type of food can I expect in New Zealand?
There is a wide variety of exotic cuisines available from Asian to Mediterranean and more. There are many Indian restaurants in NZ, so students from India can enjoy the Indian food there. Few famous Indian restaurants are Masala, Bombay Palace and Calcutta wala.
When I arrive in New Zealand, who can help me find out where to go?
Anyone going to NZ for the first time can use i-site official visitor information network. This includes information about accommodation and transportation. Auckland has 12 i-SITES Visitor Centres located at: Auckland International Airport, Auckland Domestic Airport, Princes Wharf (downtown), SKYCITY (downtown), Waiheke Island, Great Barrier Island, Warkworth, Orewa, Takapuna, Devonport, Franklin and Pukekohe. Can I use my credit card in New Zealand?
Yes all major credit cards are acceptable. Students can exchange the money at banks, hotels, bureau de change counters.
What clothes should I take?
Students are advised to carry a jacket, sweater, light rain proof jacket or coat.
How is the climate in NZ?

Are there any safety issues in New Zealand?
New Zealand is considered one of the safest destinations in the world. The crime rate in NZ is very low. Most of the International students enjoy the safe stay during their education in NZ.
Where are the international airports located in New Zealand?
New Zealands international airports are located at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Some flights from Australia also land at Hamilton, Palmerston North, Queenstown and Dunedin.
Where can I find a suitable accommodation?
On Campus: University / College hostels (self catered or fully catered) Off Campus: Student can rent a flat and stay individually or with friends or relatives. Students will also have an option of staying at private hostels and apartments. Home stay: Student will be staying with a family in NZ.

Can I work whilst am studying?
International students are allowed to work part time maximum upto 20 hours per week & full time during summer / winter holidays. Minimum wage rate for International student is 13.5NZ$ per hour.
What are the options available after completing my studies in NZ?
Students who complete a two year course in NZ at a Diploma Level are eligible for 1 Year Graduate Job Search Visa. Students who complete an undergraduate degree, graduate diploma or a pg course will also be eligible for 1 year Graduate Job Search visa. During Graduate Job Search visa student can work full time and look for a job which will be relevant to their field of study. If a student finds a job in the relevant field he / she can apply for 2 years work permit or PR depending on the eligibility.

Can my spouse accompany me during my studies in NZ?
For Diploma / Undergraduate Courses – Spouse can only apply for a visitor visa. For PG Courses: Spouse can get a Full time work permit. Long Term Skill Shortage: Spouse can get a full time work permit. Please refer to www.immigration.govt.nz
Are Scholarships available?
